Photoshoot with Blu

My friend Blu is an incredibly photogenic person. This is a photoshoot I did with her back in December or January.

This is still my favorite.

Not for the easily creeped out.

Years ago there was a waterpark within an hour's drive from home that my mother used to take me to as a kid. I remember it being a bit run down even then and has since gone through it's share of hurricanes and neglect. It's now been closed down for 10 years or more. My parents are members of an RV park that shares the same land and hosted a family reunion there this month.

While scooting around on their golf cart I ran across the graveyard of old fiberglass figures and statues and other pieces of the old waterpark. None of them are wholly intact which adds to the creepiness factor of the whole bit.

I took a lot of pictures and will be showing you the path that I took through the carnival burial ground.

First you are greeted by the Black Knight.
I feel protected now, don't you?

On a closer look..
...maybe we should just keep walking.

Oh! A penguin. That's better.
A penguin with a missing beak, but still.

Oh, just an innocent abandoned swingset.
Wait.. what's that behind it?

Oh, of course.. a disembodied giraffe.. I should have known.
He fits in well with this guy, though.

This is where the hair on the back of my neck starts to stand up.
I wonder what the bleach was there for.

The cow from a different angle on the path.

If I had a truck I would have taken this thing home.
Though I think I'd be worried that it's haunted.
This guy kind of reminds me of Big Boy.
Someone must have gotten hungry.

More coin-operated tombstones.

These are the abandoned carts of an old "rollercoaster" at the park that I actually remember riding.

And the rusted tracks.

If I remember right, these things shot water ouot of the top and cascaded over the sides.

I haven't the slightest idea what these are. My theory is spaceships.

See?? There's a cockpit. And the driver was apparently a fan of Busch Lite

These folks had a thing for cows I think.

Took my nephew and I a minute to figure out what this was supposed to be. It's a rabbit.
Also if you look closely you'll see that someone was considerate enough to add genitalia onto him.

We found his ears a few feet away.

Another mushroom. I think this one was a picnic table or something.

Pretty sure this is the culprit of the missing burger bite.
Mechanical See-Saw with Donald Duck. Not too creepy, right?

Until you get closer and see that it actually looks like this.
*shudder*
Another cow. This one had demon eyes.

The old food court.
Closer inspection. Those are some happy ants.
I'm not really sure about the selling point of having ants painted on the food court, though. I thought the idea was to not have ants near your food?

BMX

My best friend is teaching himself how to BMX. I used that as an opportunity to take some pictures.

This one is my favorite. He's in three places in this one.

My family in binary colors.

First up is Atticus Finch. He's our 2 year old tuxedo-man from the Tallahassee shelter. What he lacks in smarts he makes up in sweetness and charm.

Next is the newest addition to the family. My prettier half's new baby boy. He's 8 weeks old and one day today. This is Tucker
He weighs exactly one pound.

This is Fawkes, so named because of his triangle shaped goatee on his chin.
He's a charmer.

Lastly is my rotten dog. Roxanne, the daddy's girl.

She's a sandwich.

Hello

I am putting together this blog to have a place to organize and share the pictures I take.

I am just a novice (read: hack) photographer, but I love finding the life around me.

I hope you all enjoy.
